About Solventum Germany , Bad Essen

Did you know?

Bad Essen is home to one of the internationally leading manufacturers in the field of orthodontics. Solventum Germany in Bad Essen produces the 3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System for children, teens and adults worldwide. Due to the lingual (i.e. tongue side) application of these braces, the treatment progress is soon visible while the braces remain invisible.

Moving into the newly-built facilities at Schledehauser Strasse in 2007

„We are the ones who achieve visible success with invisible braces.“

The abbreviation “TOP” in the company’s former name TOP-Service fuer Lingualtechnik GmbH derives from Transfer Optimized Positioning, an alignment process that has been used in the beginning of the company’s history. What was implemented manually back then has been developed much further and is now conducted with CAD-/CAM-software at the computer. The 3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System was launched in 2004 as the first completely customized lingual appliance on the market.

In August 2008, 3M Germany acquired TOP-Service as a subsidiary from its founder and the 3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System enhanced the Health Care division of multi-technological group 3M. Due to the outsourcing of the Health Care division from 3M effective 1st April 2024 the site in Bad Essen now belongs to the newly formed concern Solventum based in the USA.

With the support of computer-aided technologies, the experienced employees manufacture each component of the 3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System in high precision individually for each patient. The so-called brackets and wires are matching components and perfectly realize the individual treatment plan of the orthodontist.

The portfolio of Solventum Germany in Bad Essen also comprises an extensive training program for orthodontists in order to educate about the treatment possibilities of different tooth displacements  with the 3M™ Incognito™ Appliance System and to ensure treatment success.

Moreover, Solventum Germany GmbH offers apprenticeships for industrial clerks.
